Business, Industrial and Scientific Supplies (BISS) is one of our fastest growing product lines and presents the opportunity to innovate on behalf of the B2B customers. The BISS team is looking for a Senior Manager of Vendor Management with proven track record of delivering results and leading teams. This role specifically focuses on managing supplier relationships in the Scientific vertical, which spans Professional Medical, Dental, Higher Education and Lab, K-12 School supplies.

He/She will play a critical role in managing strategic brands and partner with the Amazon Business team to improve customer experience and drive the profitability and topline performance for the category.
The Senior Manager, Vendor Management leads a team of vendor managers and owns setting the strategic direction for the department that optimizes for long-term success focusing on customer experience, growth and profitability. The role will also work with multiple product groups and leaders to grow sales on Amazon.com. He/she will leverage key metrics to develop customer insights to drive innovation, and will leverage these insights to enable the team to drive vendor participation in marketing, merchandising and promotional activities in order to drive overall business growth.

Sets direction and aligns the team to drive category selection and growth strategiesRepresents team at cross-GL top-to-top vendor meetings by aligning objectives and working toward common goalsDrives strategic negotiations that impact multiple categories and/or product lines for improved costs and termsAnticipates future risks and proactively creates plans to avoid reactive negotiationsPartners with category leader to define negotiation strategies that support long-term relationshipsProvides feedback on existing programs or initiates the creation of new programs to drive vendor participation. Establishes pricing, selection, and convenience goals for the category that deliver long-term positive results; develops processes to audit team inputsOwns Retail P&L for Healthcare and Education categories and focuses on strategy for scalable revenue and margin improvementBalances portfolio to manage goals for multiple product groupsAligns strategy for promotional plans, sets vision for category promotions, and reviews and audits to ensure quality customer experienceAudits team’s work periodically and directs team to perform deep-dive analysis on problems; presents findings to senior leadershipCoaches and empowers team to identify and automate product lifecycle changes that scale to all retail categories while maintaining individual accountabilityEnsures results drive improvements across multiple categories or organizationsEffectively negotiates projects and agendas across a broad range of cross-functional teams and tech teams; influences through persuasion, not politicsInsists on a high bar for operational automation and holds teams (both category and technical) accountable for automation goals
