"Organizations aren't necessarily aligned for SASE, and there's going to [need to be] some political reorganization and re-scoping of what are the responsibilities within both … the networking side of thing … and security side of things," Smith says.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group offering an analysis of Gartner's report offering a strategic road map for SASE, Smith offers insights on

  • Factors driving adoption of the SASE model;
  • Creating a migration for SASE adoption;
  • How SD Wan, Secure Gateway and ZTNA are being considered as part of the SASE model.

Smith is a senior director security analyst in the technology and service provider division of Gartner, researching emerging technology and trends. He has more than 20 years of experience in product leadership positions with security, networking, and communications vendors, including AT&T, Fortinet, Intel, McAfee, Palm, Riverbed, Symantec, and T-Mobile.
