James Lewis
Director and Senior Fellow, Technology and Public Policy Program, Center for Strategic and International Studies
Lewis' work at the Washington think tank focuses on cybersecurity, space and innovation. He served as staff director for the CSIS-sponsored Commission on Cybersecurity for the 44th Presidency, which produced a groundbreaking report. His current research examines the political effect of the Internet, strategic competition among nations and technological innovation. Lewis previously worked at the departments of State and Commerce as a Foreign Service officer and as a member of the Senior Executive Service.
